House of Guramayle | a safe space for the Ethiopian LGBTIQ+ community

Help

Do you need help?

House of Guramayle is an advocacy and awareness-raising organisation and is not set up to help members of the LGBTIQ+ community in crisis. However, we are committed to signposting sources of support while we push decision-makers to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of the community.

Resources

Below are organisations and initiatives that can help those in need in Ethiopia; please email us if you know of any resources, initiatives or organisations that should be listed here:

The Rapid Response Fund

Managed by Frontline AIDS, it provides grants to LGBT people so they can access HIV services in emergency situations. The Fund provides emergency response grants to enable very quick action, as well as challenge response grants designed to facilitate a response over a number of months to manage new or worsening situations.

ProtectDefenders.eu

Provides support to those promoting and defending the human rights of LBGTI people and communities. They provide emergency grants, assist those in danger who need to relocate and run an urgent support hotline.

The Dignity for All: LGBTI Assistance Program

Provides emergency assistance, advocacy funding, and security support to human rights defenders and civil society organizations under threat or attack due to their work for LGBTI rights.
